Sebastian Maniscalco Brings His Hilarious “Aren’t You Embarrassed?” National Tour to Pittsburgh

Levity_Sebastian_Blue Back ground photo credit Anders KrusbergOn Saturday, April 30th, the Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall in Munhall, PA, presents the hilarious Sebastian Maniscalco. Sebastian’s specialty is saying what we’re all thinking, but when he says it, it’s a whole lot funnier. Fans across North America show up in droves to see Sebastian’s dead-on social commentary on marriage, family and his Italian upbringing. From the moment Sebastian takes the stage, his hilarious facial expressions and animated delivery has his audience totally captivated, in the moment and hysterically laughing.

Maniscalco is now hard at work on his first memoir expected in 2016, titled “Where You Wanna Eat?” combining his two favorite things: comedy and food.  The memoir by Maniscalco and co-author Alan Eisenstock will explore Maniscalco’s dining experiences and dos and don’ts from a lifetime as a diner, waiter and keen observer of human nature through a series of his most memorable meals (Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster).

The first glimpse at the table-side humor audiences can expect from Maniscalco in his memoir was seen when he joined Jerry Seinfeld for “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.”

Sebastian recently landed a new pilot on NBC in which he is set to Executive Produce and star in. The new pilot is inspired by his life and comedy along with writer Austen Earl and Greg Garcia (Amigos De Garcia Productions).

After nearly a dozen sold-out performances in New York City’s comedy circuit in the last year alone, the Chicago-born-and-bred turned Los Angeles native has tapped Manhattan as the backdrop for his newest comedy special, to be filmed in May of 2016 at the historic Beacon Theatre. This highly-anticipated new hour of skepticism follows up Sebastian’s 2015 Showtime standup special and DVD “Aren’t You Embarrassed?” in which millions tuned in to see his witheringly sarcastic and exasperated take on modern behavior and etiquette. The Ultimate Sacrifice: The Story of St. Valentine

st-valentineBy Alberto Macchione

We give our loved ones cards and chocolates each year to mark the international day of Romance, St Valentine’s Day, February 14th. But who is Saint Valentine and what did he do?

There is much conjecture about whether there are two or three Saint Valentine’s or whether they are in the fact the same person.

‘THE” Saint Valentine however is known to be a Roman Priest who existed under the reign of Emperor Claudius II in the 3rd Century AD and day was declared as St. Valentine’s Day by Pope Gelasius I in the 5th Century AD.

Rome was amidst heavy engagement in all directions. The Romans were waging civil war in Milan and several threats existed from the Goths while attacks were being waged in the west against the Gallic Empire. [Read more…]

About the documentary:

“Capodardo e i giovani: Before the Future” – a documentary by Luca Guardabascio.
The documentary and the Capodarco project will be presented by Film Director Luca Guardabascio.

Father Franco Monterubbianesi is the Founder of the Capodarco Community, a non-profit organization working since 1966 to promote and defend the dignity of marginalized people, especially those wtih mental and physical disability. The organization promotes their social and employment integration.

Since 1966 when he was a young priest, Father Franco was inspired by a strong belief that he made his only one mission: we should not accept injustice. In a globalized world based on economic power and competitiveness, marginalized people are victims of social and cultural exclusion. Father Franco, now 83 years old, has spent all his life promoting the affirmation of human, social and cultural rights of people with disabilities.

Today the young generations are the new marginalized people. Capodarco has deeply marked the Italian Welfare State promoting important National Legislation such as on school integration of disabled students or in more recent years on social agriculture. The Italian Law knows as Legge Basaglia that abolished Mental Hospitals was also inspired by the Capodarco example.

“Capodarco: prima del futuro” (Capodarco: Before the Future) is a documentary about the Capodarco Project. Directed by Luca Guardabascio, the film involves Capodarco residents and their realities which represent the main aspect of Capodarco’s ideas not only of the past and of the present, but also of the future. The documentary will be shown at MONDO ITALIANO: 7604 Charleston Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15218 (Near Regent Square)…/…/226347607/
